A World Without Prototype - NUA BSc3a Project Brief
This project brief had us imagine a world without one of a list of themes that we could choose from and make a small prototype to reflect that chosen world. I chose Libraries as a theme as the current state of publicly funded libraries in the US is massively underfunded and locations are closing constantly. Libraries serve as a vital resource not just for reading and learning, but important community services.
In my prototype, the player visits the last publicly funded library as it transitions into a privately owned business. It focuses mainly on light immersive theme elements where I wanted the player to interact with everything in the library in order to tell the story.
Built in UE5/C++

Infinite Form ARJam - WebAR App
An WebAR app made for the AR Jam put on by Infinite Form. We were provided a template project and a brief stating 3 interactable hotspots with an educational focus on climate change.
I have not worked with WebAR before and was very excited to try something new. With a small, multidisciplinary team we were able to put together a working prototype shown here in just a few days. The user can swipe on the screen left and right to spin the model around and click on the hotspots to pull up the cards shown in the screen recording.
Built with Zapworks SDK & Javascript/Node.js

Car Centric - Procedurally Generated Endless Runner UE5/C++
Made for the Hypercasual game brief set for NUA_BSc2A. With elements of Temple Run and Frogger, the player must run through the chaotic traffic of a standard North American city street in order to make it to work on time. Dodge in between large speeding trucks, jump over smaller compact cars, and collect powerups to make sure you aren't fired!
This game is developed in UE5 with all of it's mechanics and level generation done in C++, with the UI elements done in Blueprints.
Gameplay Footage here with a brief run through of the code and level generation.

Sludge Slayer - Vertical Game Jam 2023
A real-time tower defense / shooter made for the Vertical Game Jam 2023 at Norwich University of the Arts. The theme for this Jam was "Regeneration". We were put into large teams of multiple disciplines and tasked with making a game in roughly 5 days. Our team was a mix of concept artists, asset production, indie developers/level designers and game developers/programmers across the second and third year group at Norwich University of the Arts.
Among the challenges of working with a large team of many we have never met before, was the leadership role in development I was in. Having the opportunity to help assign roles and tasks, communicate with the art and design team to relay back to the programmers, build many of the backend C++ tools for the game such as the economy, data structures for AI Enemy classes, as well as offer guidance and help to the other programmers.
This was a large project that I am really proud of our team for pulling through in such a short amount of time amongst the challenges it presented.

Indie Prototype - NUA BSc1b Submission
This project is for my unit submission for the NUA Games Development course (1st Year). The objective is to make a vertical slice of a game, or single level, that is feature complete and explores moving in a 3D space.
My prototype is a 3D puzzle platformer in which the player traverses puzzle rooms to find different key items to open a grand door to progress. The player is given freedom to explore with a set of movement mechanics; such as, a teleporting projectile that can be thrown to traverse the level, or be launched in a specific direction via indicated platforms, as well as a flexible climbing mechanic that can be used to reach hard to see areas and further exploration for key items.
The inspiration for the project is to be a relaxing and engaging puzzle experience. Instead of enemies attacking or a clock to race against, the player will have a spirit gauge that is depleted every time they teleport. Making the use of it precious and require further thinking to traverse.
This footage features captures halfway through the development period in the simplistic blocked out video and is centered around the sandbox I built to test mechanics and character feel, as well as a finished prototype.

Bun Hunt - GMTK Game Jam 2023
This game was made in 48 hours for the Game Maker's Toolkit Game Jam 2023. The theme for the jam was "Roles Reversed." Our team set out to make an endless 2.5D side scroller where instead of controlling the main hero, you control the small sidekick clearing obstacles and launching the hero out of harms way while they continual run.

Burrow - Global Games Jam 2023
This game was made in 48 hours for GGJ 2023 in which the theme was "Roots." In Burrow, you control a small bunny trying to escape the toxic cloud raining above, making the world inhabitable. In this vertical platformer the player must hop down into the world, traversing the roots, dodging baddies, and ultimately reaching a safe haven untouched by the toxic waste above.
